10 EASY & FUN SPRING STYLING TIPS

1. OPPOSITES ATTRACT

Anchor an oh-so feminine top, like the Isla Wave blouse by Ciao Lucia (coming soon to Onloan, keep your eyes peeled), with a masculine seperate — think slouchy trousers, a sharp blazer or tailored culottes. Joseph’s Stripe Tillion trousers are the perfect companion for bringing a lavish blouse back down to earth.

2. BE SUN SMART

Don’t underestimate the power of bold sunglasses and a great hat — both to protect you from the sun’s rays, and add a touch of 70s attitude to your outfit. Take cues from the ever-lovely @berrymalinowska who looks like a dream in Stine Goya’s Kelly recycled polyester dress.

3. EXPERIMENT WITH PRINT MIXING

There’s a lot to be said for mastering the illusive art of clashing patterns, but the only thing that really matters is that you have a whole lot of fun while doing so. The more wilder the mix, the better. Think florals and polka dots, checks and painterly patterns or stripes and animal prints. Case in point, Ciao Lucia Benedetta Stripe top, styled with Soeur’s Jimmy cropped zebra trousers.

4. BELIEVE IN THE BRALETTE

Perhaps one of spring’s most polarising trends, if it works for you, why not give the bralette a chance? We love @abisolaaka‘s tonal take, pairing her bralette with sharp tailoring in the form of the Designers’ Remix Marie vegan leather trousers and Baum & Pferdgarten’s Doretta tiger coat.

5. IF IN DOUBT, JUST ADD DENIM

The easiest way to debut a risky new piece? Pair it with your most trusted pair of jeans. We love how this faded blue denim by Italian tastemaker Jejia, lets Sea NY’s standout Gabriela crochet puff sleeve top take centre stage – right where it belongs.

6. FRAME FUN PIECES WITH THE CLASSICS

The beauty of loaning? Access to seasonal pieces, like Shrimps’ swoon-worthy Amelia double collar blouse, without having to make a long-term wardrobe commitment. Indulge in the best of both worlds and make like @francescasaffari by styling a playful borrowed piece with your own trusty basics like blazers, jeans, loafers and so on (although, we’ll totally loan you those too if you like).

7. TWO PIECE CO-ORD = LESS EFFORT REQUIRED

Co-ord, two piece or matching set… call it what you may, doubling up with co-ordinating separates means one less decision to make on a busy day. We’ve got an array of pairings to choose from in the Onloan library, Rodebjer’s Daria top and Marika skirt are a match made in knitwear heaven.

8. LONG LIVE COTTAGECORE

Although daily responsibilities might prevent us from heading for the hills entirely, that doesn’t mean we can’t indulge in a little cottagecore escapism in outfit form, right? Throw Sea NY’s Tilia patchwork quilted jacket over a floaty maxi dress and you’ll be skipping through fields in no time, @carolinesstylehacks has certainly got the right idea.

9. LET EVENINGWEAR SEE THE LIGHT

Think that lurex, sweeping lengths and a touch of sparkle are just for after dark? Think again. Joseph’s A-line maxi skirt works surprisingly well during the daytime when worn with a simple T-shirt and sandals that have an outdoorsy feel.

10. MAKE IT GROOVY

Never sticking around at Onloan HQ for long, Soeur’s Jeremie sweater vest is proving to be quite the crowd favourite, take a trip back to the 70s by pairing with aviator sunglasses and flared jeans à la @biancaffoley. But don’t just take our word for it, Alexa Chung is onboard with this one too.
