Italians do it better which is why we’re excited to share the first Italian fashion designer to join our roster; Maison Jejia.
Anna Maria Marino, Designer at Maison Jejia
Jejia is helmed by designer Anna Maria Marino who likes to make ‘strong clothes for strong women’. After many years consulting for leading fashion brands, Marino, who hails from Como and kick-started her career with Remo Ruffini on his New England brand in the Eighties, launched her own line in 2012. “Everything about Jejia is linked with my story and my family,” she said, revealing that Jejia was her mother’s nickname. “I don’t consider trends, I don’t follow current fashion, I just design very versatile clothes for women with a strong attitude and personality.”
The story of Jejia began in Como in 2012, in the heart of the silk region, so it is unsurprising that quality is inherent to the brand. Italian fashion designers are fabric engineers who take quality very seriously with a style that can be characterised by understated luxury, glamour and sensuality. Like this fine knit cardigan with exaggerated (removable) cuffs – polishing up slouchy daywear.
Naturally, Jejia only use the best of the best fabrics which we think you really need to feel for yourself. Much like these wide leg pleated jeans, which make denim fun again. Experiment with the sweeping silhouette that pairs perfectly with a silk blouse.
Infused with a discreet elegance, reflecting the designer’s personality, Jejia offers wearable everyday pieces, all crafted in Italy with high-end fabrics, most of them developed exclusively for the label. A sartorial feel runs the line, where silhouettes are always cut to deliver comfort and even the most feminine pieces, including frilled cotton maxi dresses, are layered over T-shirts and pants.
